Core Course Methodology

The core courses balance theoretical highlights, case studies, and role-playing. Interactive sessions (for some topics) will challenge participants in decision-making situations.

Continuous evaluation

Participant progress is assessed at four levels :

during each course, through a participation-oriented assessment
after each module, through a written examination
during each period abroad, again through a participation-oriented assessment
at the end of the programme, through a final paper

Personal professional skills

These skills are developed in the programme via the following techniques.

Interactive teaching builds on the group’s personal experience
Case studies allow participants to practice leadership in the formulation of a strategic decision and to follow a specific action plan
Soft-skill modules include leadership, negotiation and others
The learning environment of the Louvain School of Management offers participation in conferences and access to its information resources
Personal contact development will be honed through contacts with executive classmates, alumni association events and networking with five top Belgian institutions and with the corporate contributors to the programme

Final Paper

A final paper will allow you to demonstrate your newly acquired skills. Applying the knowledge acquired during the Executive MBA programme and with academic coaching by the faculty of the Louvain School of Management, you will have to solve a managerial problem your company is facing, preferably in an international setting and capitalizing on the international study trip opportunity. This project, defined with the company at the beginning of the programme, must allow you to incorporate the various dimensions studied throughout the programme. The final paper will be evaluated by an international committee composed of members from various academic backgrounds and from the corporate world. The oral presentation of your conclusions is scheduled for September 2007.

Study trips

Two-week study trips will help you broaden your hands-on international experience. The programme includes three such trips: one to Hungary, with Corvinus University of Budapest; one to Sao Paulo with the Fundação Getulio Vargas; and one to Shanghai with Tongji and Jiaotong Universities
